HERE IS A SHORT ITEM ABOUT O.P. RAY:
Detective's Expense Claim Is Held Up A claim of O. P. Ray, a detective in the office of Gov. W. J. Holloway, and president of the Oklahoma Peace Officers Association, for more than $30 expenses to Tulsa, where he attended the semiannual state meeting of the officers' convention, is being held in abeyance by A. S. J. Shaw, state auditor. Shaw said he had not yet determined whether Ray's claim should be paid as the peace officers' organization is not a part of the state government. It is probable, he said, that Ray's salary claim for $350 will be allowed as it has been approved by the governor from the extraordinary protection fund. 1930 newspaper story.
