Just a reminder that on Saturday, March 1, 2008, Oklahombres will be presenting a one day free rendezvous at Mulhall, Oklahoma. Everyone is to meet at Lucille's Restaurant, located at 106 N. Main in Mulhall, at around 9:00 a.m. By 9:30 a.m. we plan to leave Lucille's parking lot area to depart to the Rose Lawn Cemetery at Mulhall to see the grave of Doolin gang member Oliver "Ol" Yantis. We will be returning to Lucille's for lunch (own your own) at 11:00 a.m. At noon our first speaker will be Laurence Yadon, co-author of "100 Oklahoma Outlaws, Gangsters, and Lawmen 1839-1939." At 1:00 p.m. Dennis Lippe will speak on a Mulhall police officer who was killed in the line of duty until 1:30 p.m. Following him, there will be a break out session for book signings of various authors until 2:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m. we will have author R. D. Morgan speak to the group about his latest book "Taming the Sooner State: The War between Lawmen & Outlaws in Oklahoma and Indian Territory 1875 - 1941." Mr. Morgan is the author of several books on Oklahoma lawmen/outlaws. This is his first appearance with Oklahombres. At 3:00 p.m. author Dr. Robert Barr Smith, author of "Tough Towns: True Tales from the Gritty Streets of the Old West, " in 2006 and the soon to be released: "Outlaw Tales of Oklahoma: True Stories of the Sooner State's Most Infamous Crooks, Culprits, and Cutthroats." I will be speaking on Mulhall Police Officer James H Rundell who was killed in the line of duty September 21, 1930. Looking forward to seeing everyone again as well as new people who will be attending.
