Of intrest to all fans of history, the Oklahoma Historical Society is announcing the creation of Oklahoma Memories.
Produced by Michael Dean, Public Relations Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society, "Oklahoma Memories" is a four-minute weekly radio show that focuses on various aspects of Oklahoma history, unknown or seldom told stories about the people and events that have shaped our state.

KOSU, Oklahoma State University, broadcasts the show on Monday afternoons at
4:45 p.m. KOSU broadcasts on 91.7 in Stillwater and Oklahoma City, 107.5 in Tulsa and Northeast Oklahoma, and 101.9 in Okmulgee.

KCCU, Cameron University, broadcasts the show at 8:45 a.m. Monday mornings on 89.3 in Lawton and Fort Sill, 95.9 in Woodward and Northwest Oklahoma, 88.7 in Wichita Falls, 90.3 in Ardmore, 90.1 in Altus, 89.3 in Duncan, 100.1 in Chickasha and 89.1 in Weatherford, Clinton and Elk City.

The program features Dean using historic recordings to help him tell stories. For example, on September 28th, he will remember Gene Autry through an interview "the Singing Cowboy" gave to Mike Douglas. Douglas also had an Oklahoma connection having hosted a Noon interview program on WKY-TV in the early 1960's.
