The Fort Smith National Historic Site is celebrating 50 years of telling the story by having a three day event called: Hell, Justice & Grit on the Border, on July 1-3, 2011. Several speakers are current and past Board members of Oklahombres and will include discussions of "Cherokee Lawman, Sam Sixkiller" by Catherine F. Gray; "George Maledon, Fort Smith Hangman" by Dave Turk; "Heck Thomas & The Indian Territory" by Dee Cordry; "Indian Freedmen Who Rode for Parker" by Art T. Burton; "The Trial of Jackson Crow" by Angela Walton-Raji; "Rasslin' with Law Enforcement in Indian Territory, Deputy U. S. Marshal John A.
