Requesting any information on Deputy George McKee who was shot 3 times attempting to arrest W C "Bill" Tidwell for armed robbery on December 14, 1915, north of Quinton.
The Daily Oklahoman of Wed., Dec. 15, 1915, Pg 2, Col 6,tells of the shooting and states "...probably fatally wounded..." Need other articles that tell of his death date. The only other article we have is "Daddy Said, Memories of an old Van Zandter" by Elvis Allen, which states on page 127, "Tidwell had already killed Quinton's marshal, George McKee,..." Any help would be appreciated in our effort to have his name added to the Oklahoma and National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorials.
