Richard Humphrey McLish (Chickasaw) was born near Tishomingo June 11, 1860 and died Feb. 22, 1929 in Norman. His is buried in Rose Hill cemetery, Ardmore. He married Rosa Washington, (white) born Feb. 5, 1867 and died Aug. 14, 1933. Their son Richard R was born 9-1, 1886. Richard H. and Bill Washington were brothers in laws and partners in a huge cattle ranch in southern Indian Territory. I have a bunch of material and resources for you to check. Let me know if you're interested.

I would be interested in the history of the Washington ranch, and specifically the relationship with Jim Webb, who was eventually killed by Bass Reeves. Does anyone have any information about Webb? What was his history prior to hiring on with Washington and McLish? I understand he was from Texas, and that he had killed a reported 10 or 11 men, a stern ranch foreman for this ranch. But, other than what is contained in Art Burton's book, I don't really know much about him. I would like to know more about him, especially what he was doing prior to working for the Washington ranch.
