THE ALVIN KARPIS "TIE STORY"

Folks, as many know the legendary story, with J. Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson present, Alvin Karpis was arrested in New Orleans by the FBI in the mid 30's. Story goes that no one brought handcuffs and one of the neckties of the Agents present had to be used to bind Karpis. Some writers, researchers have attributed that necktie to Agent Clarence Hurt.

Well, based on new info, we beg to differ. In reality I think you'll see it actually belonged to SA W. L. "Buck" Buchanan and the letters between him and Hoover of 1940 will show it. These recently sent to us by SA Buchanan's son, now a dentist in Austin, TX.

Stop by our website to see the details and letters at historical gmen. You can view or even save the letters to your hard drive.

Feel free to pass this on and check our site for a "whole lot more" on the Agents of the 30's.

Enjoy
