The murder of lawman Luther Bishop happened in 1926. His wife Edith was charged with the crime, and in 1927 she was found not guilty. These events are covered in detail in my book "Alive If Possible, Dead If Necessary."
The newspaper stories from that time period are available on microfilm. You just have to go through them page by page, which is what I did when researching the book. No court file could be found at the Oklahoma County courthouse.
There may be other records somewhere that I have not found yet, you never know what might turn up someday.

My daughter's Great Grandfather (Claude Tyler) worked on that case. He and Operative Bishop were partners in OSBI. If I recall correctly they had just returned from a trip to McAlester,OK on the day Luther Bishop was murdered. I found many articles about it in the Daily Oklahoman Archives. It requires a small fee to research those Archives but it is well worth the price.
