The Skiatook Police Department is currently in the process of gathering and writing the History of the Skiatook Police Department. We are looking for any Information on the Lawmen and Outlaws that spent time in or around Skiatook. We are currently working on the history of a shootout that occurred Feb 6th 1923 between John Ellis an Osage County Deputy and Former Night Watchman for Skiatook and two Skiatook marshals that resulted in the Death of another deputy. We have identified the location of the Shootout and found at least one bullet defect on a wall. but we are looking for dispositions on the court cases or any other information on this or other cases in the area. The players involved are John Ellis Osage Deputy, Collins deputized person for Osage County, LW Standridge Skiatook Marshal, and Supernaw Skiatook Marshall. Any information on any history would be greatly appreciated
