Came across this today and thought I would share.....
http://www.sequoyahcountytimes.com/ - from The Sequoyah County Times, April 2, 2009 - Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart holds what is said to be the gun that Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd once owned. Lockhart said it was customary for the Colt Thompson .45 caliber gun to be carried by the sheriff. After speaking with some members of the Floyd family and previous sheriffs Lockhart said a decision to display the piece of history was made. Lockhart spoke with the U.S. Marshal Museum planners about loaning the gun to the museum for display after the museum is built. Lockhart said he has not confirmed that the gun is in fact Pretty Boy Floyd’s but it has been in the sheriff’s office for more then 40 years and was said to have been found under a floor in a cabin once occupied by Pretty Boy Floyd. ~Courtney Coble • TIMES *Is featured photo on front page of newspaper |
