I am doing research on a vaudeville performer who was in Oklahoma 191-1922 and have come across a newspaper article which says in part: "company has been revamped within the last four weeks preparatory to entertaining the army cantonment circuit. From here the company goes to Fort Riley, Kansas for an indefinite stay."

This article appeared in a 10-6-1917 newspaper so it would be speaking of World War I.

Does anyone have any suggestions how one might locate newspaper articles from the army newspapers for Oklhaoma, Texas, and Kansas for that time frame. I would like to verify whether this person actually played the miliitary circuits.
