Hi, brand new to this so bear with me please researching grgrandfathers murder in 1895 Wesley Higgins by son in law by the name of Stokes. Stokes family disapeared and never heard from again. Trying to find any info on the murder and if Stokes was arrested this happened in South Eastern Oklahoma maybe around Ardmore. Also cannot find burial site for Higgins does anyone have any idea's to find this information.

Bonz, where did the murder happen? If close to Ardmore, the Daily Ardmorite would probably have reported it. Microfilmed copies can be viewed at the Ardmore Public Library, the Chickasaw Library, and the Oklahoma Historical Society.

Possible site of murder anywhere between Holdenville and Ardmore area. Possible he was buried near Gene Autry. This happened in 1885 how long could a body be held for burial? How far could a wagon travel in one day?
