Does anyone have articles or other information on the death of Bristow Police Detective W H Johnson? According to The Dallas Morning News of Sun., Sept. 21, 1924, (the only article we have been able to find so far) he "..was instantly killed, and William Cooke, a Deputy Sheriff and E. L. McElvaine, a Constable, were seriously injured when their motor car overturned one mile north of here (Bristow)Saturday as they were speeding to Kellyville to intercept three bandits who robbed the Kellyville Bank of $1,000 shortly after noon."
Any help would be appreciated as always. Dennis L Lippe, Chairman Oklahoma Law Enforcement Memorial PO Box 10776 Oklahoma City, OK 73140-1776 e-mail: oklememorial@aol.com |
