James Earl Sullivan 1907- 1975 was convicted of Grand Larcency and served time in McAlester State Prison, McAlester, Ok. He was a driver for Bonnie and Clyde and was in jail when they were killed. His siblings helped him get on the right side of the law. He became a minister and served with Rev. Billy Graham in the Prison Ministry. He wrote a book about his life and crime but was very evasive about what he acutally did. One of the few crimes he admitted was highjacking trains by breaking open cars loaded with cigarettes and stealing them to be sold on the blackmarket.
He discussed the ways the Gangsters who gambled, used drugs and alcohol to excess, etc. Does anyone have any information about him? I don't know when or what County he was convicted or what he actually did. Norm |
