D.A. "Jelly" Bryce" Part American Indian

In Art Burton's biography of Deputy US Marshal Bass Reeves, Black Gun, Silver Star, a passing reference is made about OkCPD Detective-turned-FBI-Agent Jelly Bryce in which it is assert that Bryce was part Kiowa. In Ron Owens's bio of Bryce, Jelly Bryce - Legendary Lawman, there are some hints that Bryce was part Indian, but there is nothing explicit (or, if there was, I missed it). Can anyone confirm (or, for that matter, refute) Bryce's Native American ancestry?

Thanks.
