Got finished reading Ken Butlers "More Oklahoma Renegades" - - - does anyone know where Brendle Corners is? He states it was east of Norman and notes the family burial plot is in a wooded area of Brendles Corner?

Brendle Corner is on Hwy 9, East of Norman, Oklahoma, between Little Axe and Pink, OK.

Brendle Corner is the crossroads/intersection of the Harrah-Newalla Road and Hwy 9, which is about 4 miles West of Pink, Oklahoma. Traveling East - - out of Norman - - if you reach Pink, you've gone too far.

The Brendle family home sits high on a hill on the northeast corner of this intersection. There is a Community Center on the southeast corner; and, the Humphrey-Brendle home is back in the trees on the southwest corner of the intersection.

There's a fence with a locked, steel gate and a sign that reads Brady Ranch...it is still very much "Private Property"!

The Brendle-Humphrey-Brady Tomb is located in the trailer park development on the south side of Hwy 9, just west of Brendle Corner.

Good Luck!

I did not have the faintest idea that a mobster "of this caliber" was buried here in Oklahoma - - outside of Norman no less!

I drove by there all the time when I used to go to OU and drive home on the weekends and just had NO IDEA!! Ken Butler's chapter on Humphreys was news to me and so awesome to read. Speculation that Rossano Brazi was the father of his grandchild - - incredible!!

Thanks for the info. You'd think they'd want to move that tomb over to the Brady Ranch side - - or more accurately maybe it's very appropriate where it is.

If you'd like to read MORE about Murray "The Hump" Humphreys, I'd highly recommend Gus Russo's book "THE OUTFIT" . . . one of the BEST gangster books on the market!

Murray Humphreys' activities and influence with the Chicago mob, along with the national political implications, is mentioned throughout the book, taking up about one-third of this great work.

Get It! It's well worth the price.
