I am presently negotiating with Eastern National Bookstore at Fort Smith National Historic Site to publish a new book I have written on Cherokee Bill. The book will be small but concise. There will be definitive information in the book on Cherokee Bill's genealogy and his criminal record. All the information is updated and more complete than the chapters on Bill in than my previous book, Black, Red and Deadly. The title will be, The The Real Cherokee Bill; Oklahoma OutlawThe Real Cherokee Bill; Oklahoma Outlaw. This book will help to clear up many of the fables concerning the outlaw career of Crawford Goldsby aka Cherokee Bill. Even his family tombstone in Tahlequah has incorrect dates of birth for his younger brothers, they are listed as older than Bill. New Mexico had Billy the Kid, Oklahoma had Cherokee Bill. I am waiting on the movie to be made.

One should never rush. The family cemetery plot is in the National Cherokee Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Sorry about that. Plus I tried to italicize and bold the headen of the new book and it repeated the title twice. I am going to head up the trail before I get into anymore trouble.

Hi Art,

I'll be one of the first customers for your new book, but I'm curious about this "Eastern National Bookstore." Is this the bookstore/giftshop inside the structure right by the public entrance to the site? I know they already have a supply of some of your autographed books. But I had no idea that they themselves acted as a publisher. Can you supply more details?

Eastern National basically is the bookstore/giftshop for the National Historic Site. They are a national company that handles a large portion of all the National Park District sites in the country. They do publish. The most recent edition of Hell on the Border, by Harmon, was printed by them.
