Just saw this on Ebay.com. Anyone have an extra $10K lying around the house they don't need? I believe this is the collection of his personal papers that were located in an old house in the eastern part of the state last year. I had heard that the OK Historical Society was attempting to get photocopies of this material, but I've heard nothing further if they were able to or not. The auction notes that more than 400 letters are contained in the collection relating to Victor's time as U.S. Marshal of the Southern District of Indian Territory.

This is another sad chapter in the loss of this tremendous wealth of history to the private collectors' market. Sad to say, but more than likely these items will be broken up into smaller lots and scattered to the four winds on future Ebay auctions.
