I am trying to find the gun used by Roy Daugherty after he got out of prison around 1904 and was later shot by a deputy. would the court house in that area keep serial numbers of guns that were used by criminals? He was a member of the Doolin gang.

Yes, Newcomb was wounded at the beginning of the battle. Legend has it the "Rose of the Cimarron" came to his rescue. Now that would be a good topic for a new discussion.

Anyway, Arkansas Tom was killed in a shootout in or near Joplin, MO in the 1920's. Whatever gun he may have been using is unknown and it would be highly unlikely the police at that time would have recorded the serial number, in my opinion.
