I am trying to find info about my gradnfather James Simmons shot with a rife east out of Checotah in Nov 13 1888.He was riding in a wagon .Thats really all I know about it . He was Indian.I tried to find Checotah newpaper of that year but it was missing. Does anyone know what other newspaper might have carried it.

The Eufala City Library has microfilms of some of the newspapers and also some funeral home records for that time period.
