Looking for information on Deputy Sheriff Edmund Thomas.
The Galveston Daily News, March 23, 1880,Page 1, Col. 3 stated "Murder in the Indian Territory - A Fight Ending in Tragic results" Denison, March 22 - ..."About a month ago the News published a special containing an account of the assassination of Edmund Thomas, deputy sheriff of Blue River county, who was waylaid and riddled with buckshot near Atoka, one night during the session of the Indian court."
Appears to have been killed sometime in April of 1880.
Any info would be appreciated.
