While researching Deputy Marshal G R Tucker's family I leaned that his son's wife was a Granddaugher of Thomas Parker, Govenor of the Chickasaw Nation 1871-1872.

I found small blip on him saying he came with the first group of the Mississippi Chickasaw tribe. He married Nancy Isbell on 2-17-72 in Pickens Co., I. T. I cannot find him in census records and there just doesn't seem to be much information out there on him.

I checked the Dawes Roll and his son Wilson Parker and his children were listed but I could not find Thomas and figured he may have died prior to. A living relative said Thomas lived to be 115 but knew nothing more about him.

Would any of our Learn'ed historians know anything about him?

Thomas J. Parker was governor of the Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1871-72. Elections at that time were every two years, so he served only one term. According to his son, Simon, Thomas Parker moved from Mississippi with the Chickasaw in 1832 and settled at Boggy Depot. He moved a short while later to what is now Lebanon, Oklahoma. Then, just before the Civil War the family moved seven miles west. Simon reported having three brothers, one sister and one half-sister; all of the brothers were dead by his February 26, 1937 Indian and Pioneer interview. A photograph of the Parker cabin near Marietta, Oklahoma was taken around 1902 and published in the Marietta Monitor for Friday, March 28, 1930. An article accompanying the photo said the farm was originally set up by Thomas Parker 26 years previous. The article also states Tom Parker “was governor at one time and at his death in 1890, the place passed to Simon.”
