I am trying to develop information on Jack Tiger(Tiger Jack) 1847-1902. Also his father Tiger Bone 1805-1887. I understand that they both were scouts for law enforcement, and Tiger Bone was a tax collector among cattle drovers. Jack Tiger's Creek Nation roll card number was #398.

I believe there is some information on Tiger Jack in Glenn Shirley's books "West of Hell's Fringe," and "Heck Thomas." Tiger although a member of the Creek Nation, I believe he was a Yuchi, who were enrolled in the Creek Nation. Jack was suppose to be one of the best trackers in the Indian nations. He was a member of the Creek Lighthorse police, and worked with many deputy U.S. marshals on various manhunts. I would love to find out more about Jack, he is definitely someone who needs to be researched more thoroughly.

Tiger Jack is also mentioned in Emmett Dalton's Beyond the Law (see Chapter VII in the reprint issued by the Coffeyville Historical Society)as a member of a posse including Heck Thomas and Burril Cox who were after the Daltons. As Emmett tells the story Tiger Jack led the posse nearly into an ambush laid by the Daltons, and then refused to proceed any farther.
