I found this entry in the Blue County Court Records, Choctaw Nation:
Parties all being present the case of David H. Folsom for the killing, A. Pucket was taken up for ivestigation. G. W. Thompson, Prosectuting Attorney and C.C Harkins, Defendant's Attorney. May 7, 1878.
I beleive from a family source that this is the killing of Alexander Puckett. Anyone give me ideas about how to find out more??

Newspapers that were published in the area during that time would be your best bet for a more clear picture of what was going on. Many Oklahoma newspapers are available at the Oklahoma Historical Society in OKC.

Also, the same repository has on microfilm many of the court records of the Five Civilized Tribes.

Good Luck!
