I've seen several references alleging that Bill Washington, Chickasaw Nation cattle baron, used Texas assassin Jim Miller to take care of problems. I've also seen reference to Miller owning a farm near Ardmore. I was just wondering if anyone has made a connection as to whether or not this farm might have been payment from Bill for services rendered?

Is this the same Washington of Mud Creek? If it is you'd have more luck with your question if pursued in Texas material

Bill Washington was an intermarried Chickasaw, originally from Texas. His father started ranching in the Arbuckle Mountains and Bill after his marriage ran a huge ranchng operation in conjuction with his brother in law, Richard McLish, in present Love County, Oklahoma. Washington had several other alliances including, among others, arrangements with Sobe Love and W. R. Watkins. His cattle could be found east of Mud Creek to the Washita anywhere south of the Arbuckles.
