Here is a great site showing the research done by Mr. Raney of the Oak Cemetery Preservation Society as well as his participation in the Fort Smith Historical Society. This site lists many of the deputies and other federal court officials buried in Oak Cemetery at Ft Smith, Arkansas.

It worked for me just now.
That list of Marshals and Deputies, I`am sure didn`t total the 65 Marshals that was killed in the line of duty attempting to bring law and order to Indian Territory during Parker`s term. `The Hangman' George Maledon, the man who executed at least 60 men for the "Hanging Judge" Issac Parker die at a Soldier`s home at Johnson City, Tennesse in 1911. Guess he may have been buried nearby?? I`am reading a excellent short book,"Let No Guilty Man Escape" A Judicial Biography of " Hanging Judge"Isaac C. Parker by Author Roger H. Tuller, University of Oklahoma Press |

One of whose spectators was shot by a Deputy, a name wasn`t mention in that book I was reading but I`am sure it was in one of the Fort Smith papers.Interesting?? Good Luck |
