Would someone please advise me about convict registers, records, etc for prisoners sent to the Southern Ill. Prison at Menard after being convicted in Ft. Smith in 1888. Would those records be in the Illinois State Archives or the U.S. Archives? Has anyone from this venue ordered those records previously. I want to get the records of my great-uncle, Frank Lynch, convicted of bootlegging. I have the copies from Ft. Worth Archives of his conviction and sentencing. Now I'd like to find his prison records.
