Looking for any information on DUSM Robert O. Sumpter shot and killed reportedly by Oscar Lovingood in 1933 while Sumpter was single-handedly raiding a liquor still. I've found a couple of articles in the Daily Oklahoman written about his death, but would really like some info on his earlier life. Reportedly he was a DUSM at statehood and then served two terms as a county sheriff in Atoka County. About 1923, he was again commissioned a deputy U.S. marshal supposedly by the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
