I am trying to find information on my great grandfather Tom Panther. I have always grown up hearing about him but have never been told anything substantial about him. Due to family feuds that existed in the fifties many tales were told on both sides of the family that later turned out to be total fabrications or exaggerations. For example my cousin Cecil wasn’t a crazed drug dealer who spent twenty years in prison, but is a retired high school teacher living in Moore. But Tom was way before my time, around the turn of the century to be precise. I know he was a Marshal of some kind around 1900, but beyond that not much. He may have served time in prison, where he died, but as I said it wasn’t easy telling fact from fiction. Any hints on where I can start my search, or does any one have an information on Tom? Panther is a rather unique name, so I can’t see it being too hard to do.
Famous last words right?
