I am a descendant of George Weightman and I am looking for any and all information about him. From stories, locations, distant relatives to possible items he once owned.

Please share any information you have about him, anyone who knew him or his descendants, and anything else you think might be relative.

The story of George "Red Buck" Weightman is a very popular one, recounted everytime someone writes about the Battle at Ingalls, or about the Doolin-Dalton gang, or about how George Miller became "Hookey" Miller!

Mentioned in:

"Oklahoma Renegades: Their Deeds and Misdeeds" by Ken Butler (Pelican Pub. Co., Gretna, La., 1997 {pp. 60, 174-176} ); and,

"More Oklahoma Renegades" by Ken Butler (Pelican Pub. CO., Gretna, La., 2007 {pp. 88, 91}; and

"Shoot From The Lip" by Nancy Samuelson (pp. 3, 56, 68, 77-78, 115-116}; and

"Prairie Fire: Family Histories of Roger Mills County Settlers" . . . 'The Legend of Red Buck' by Patt Clark Hodge (pp. 94-95).

However, the most extensive account on the life of this really 'badman of the Territory' is: "In Pursuit Of The Outlaw RED BUCK" by Charles Power Rainbolt of Cordell, Oklahoma. (n.d., 100 pages, spiral bound, includes Bibliography, Notes, Index, Maps, and Illustrations.

How are you related to George Weightman?
