Im trying to find information on Georgia, Luther and Clarence. Any info or resources worth mentioning?

The siblings are all buried at the National Cherokee Cemetery at Fort Gibson along with Cherokee Bill. Bill's younger brother Clarence killed Ike Rogers ran away to St. Louis and became a Pullman Porter. At his death the family brought his body back and buried it with the family. Georgia had lived up near Nowata until Bill killed her husband, at which time she probably moved back to Fort Smith and lived near her mother. Not much is known about Luther. The Fort Gibson Historical Society may have some information. |

So is Georgia and Maud the same person? And does anyone know of any children born to the siblings?
Thanks for the info! |

Georgia and Maud are two different people. There was a lady living in Muskogee who is deceased now, I believe she was a descendent of Maud. She had a sister who expired before her. I believe they were the last descendents of Cherokee Bill's mother's side of the family. |

I don't think all of Cherokee Bill's descendants are gone. According to my Grandmother Pearl Frances Adams she was the granddaughter of Cherokee Bill and Leona Adams. Her father was William Henry Adams. If this is true there are about 130 or so of his descendants living in California. Pearl was born in Carter County, OK. Please respond.

?hile we're on the topic, is Cherokee Bill's mother also buried at Ft. Gibson. I have read that she went by Ellen Beck. If my sources are correct, her father, Luge, was a slave of Jeffrey Beck's. Jeffrey Beck was my great-great-grandfather.

Hi,
Ellen Lynch, mother of Cherokee Bill, died at the age of 73 on December 18, 1932, and she is buried at Ft. Gibson near her two sons. She lived out her life in Muskogee with her granddaughter Maude Surrell. M.Koch |

Tassel, I am preparing to write a book on Cherokee Bill. I would be interested in any information you could provide on Jeffrey Beck that would be relative to Bill's mother. My email is aburton@southsuburbancollege.edu

the tombstone reads like this
william lynch crawford goldsby 1876-1896 georgia brown clarence goldsby 1872 1874 marcious brown luther goldsby baby georgia nickols phill cooper |

It appears they have removed some dates from the tombstones. In the late 1980s, new stone was put on the family plot showing incorrectly that Clarence was older than Crawford. Georgia was one of Crawford's sisters. Clarence was a couple of years younger than Crawford.
I believe Ellen Lynch is also buried at this site at the National Cherokee Cemetery in Fort Gibson. I don't know why here name is not shown. |
