I acquired a first edition of Marshal Nix's book Oklahombres about a year ago, and on the first page there is a dedication and signature of E.D. Nix. I was wondering if anyone here had an image of a known good signature of Marshal Nix's so that I could compare the two.
Sorry--the above link is too long. Search the website listed for "Joe Horner" and you'll get a document also supposedly signed by Nix. However, I think many of these marshals had documents signed in their names by clerks.
Well, upon looking at the signature at the office today, the one in the book looks slightly different, but that could be attributed to the fact that Nix was 34 years older when he signed the book.
I have scanned the signature from the title page. If anyone could help me on this, I'd really appreciate it. I don't have any intention of selling the book, but I would like to authenticate the signature and maybe find out who this Ed Gerkey is.
