I'm looking for information about the Dunn Brothers, small-time thieves, turned "bounty hunters" when they supposedly assassinated their friends Pierce and Newcombe for $5000.00 a piece. I'm looking for early information about them. How many brothers? Who did what? One was later killed by Marshal Canton in Guthrie, who himself was an outlaw who had changed his name. Thanks for the help!
The Western History Library at O.U. has some good period documents on Bee Dunn's death in down town Pawnee, being quickly tried by the Grand Jury that was in session across the street since all of the witnesses were still in town. They also have a letter from some Johnson County Wyoming citizens who believed that Canton had committed a murder there and called this a murder simply because Canton was involved again.
