He was at the Dalton robbery in Adair and also present during a later robbery (13 November 1894) at Blackstone switch along with Paden Tolbert and Bud Ledbetter. My information is that he was a USDM primarily attached to the court at Wichita. The Ft. Smith federal data base shows two Sid "Johnstons" (note the "t")as USDMs. They also have a picture of this Sid Johnston mounted on a horse in one of their displays. Does anybody know if these are the same people?

I have some info on a Sid Johnson and a Sid Johnston. Both are given below.
Sid Johnson was a deputy U.S. marshal in Indian Territory in 1892-1896 and operated out of Checotah, I.T.. In June 1896, in the company of fellow deputy marshal, Lee Palmer, and Van Buren, Arkansas City Marshal Felix Houck, Johnson arrested Lord John and several other murderers fifteen miles north of Checotah. **References** -Malice, Murder, & Mayhem in the Oklahoma & Indian Territories, by Edward Herring, pg. 37 -West of Hell's Fringe, by Glenn Shirley, pg. 86 -“Oklahoma’s Frontier Indian Policeâ€, Oklahoma State Trooper Magazine, by Art Burton Sid Johnston was a deputy U.S. marshal for the Western District of Arkansas in 1895. **REFERENCES** -Fort Smith National Historic Site Federal Employee Database, 1872-1896 -Original Document, “Services of Subpoena by Deputy Sid Johnston, c.
