Is there a good, detailed bio book on lawman Bill Tighlman?

If so, could you please provide the title & author's name?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I believe the standard biography is Marshal of the Last Frontier by Floyd Miller. Zoe Tilghman (Bill's second wife) published an earlier bio with that same title. A search on Amazon.com shows a more recent (2001) title: The Last Great Frontier Marshal, by Ron Fischer. I have not read Fisher's book.

The definitive and most well-documented book is Glenn Shirley's "Guardian of the Law". The only thing is that a decent copy is usually found on the internet in excess of $100.00 and more often around $200.00. But it is, in my opinion, the best and most complete biography on Tilghman.

The best book on Tilghman I have read was written by Glenn Shirley. I think it is titled "Guradian of the Law" and was printed by Eakin Press. It may be out of print but you should be able to find it in libraries.

I think that the late Glenn shirley's book WILLIAM MATTHEW TILGHMAN, GUARDIAN OF THE LAW, is availabe from the OHS bookstore which can be accessed online.
