George and Fred Sixkiller in 1891
The following item appears in the current issue of "The Goingsnake Messenger" (Vol. XX Number 4) on page 86 and was taken from the Fort Worth Gazette:
"....After learning that the principal chief had refused to pardon her boys or commute the death sentence, the old lady was wild with grief, and determined to go to the chief in person and make a last appeal to him for their lives.....Her pleadings with the stern old chief came to naught....Nancy (Dry) Sixkiller's two sons, George and Fred, were hung on April 17th, 1891."

Does anyone know if these boys are a direct relation to Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Sixkiller?

I was just looking at a list of executions for Oklahoma and they have the names of Fred and George Sixkiller listed as Fred and George Dunawa. Is this another name they go by?
