Looking for any information on the Jim Barker Gang which operated in the Cherokee Nation and surrounding country during the mid-late 1870s. Barker had several brothers involved in the gang and reportedly his gang was a smaller portion of a much larger criminal conspiracy which ranged from Arkansas to the New Mexico Territory, from Kansas to Texas engaging in stock thievery, bank robberies, extortion, etc. It is known that Barker had several men involved who have been identified. These include: Newton Schrimpsher, John Woods, James Arcenia, Clay & Lindsey Collins, Milton Lukens, and Alexander Cochran. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
