Art, I've got a bit. The earliest date I have on this bunch is an article from the Dallas Morning News dated Jan. 8, 1890. It says Deputy Bob Nestor had Nero Blue in custody for shooting a man named Black at a dance on Big Sandy in the Chickasaw Nation. At his hearing Blue was discharged. Robert Ernst, in "Deadly Affrays," has the Gordon gang composed of Esau and Henderson Gordon, Nero Blue, and Wash Bruner. Deputy McCall and several others had a gun fight on Jan. 29, 1892, with the Gordon bunch at Caesar Bruner's place northwest of present Seminole. In this fight, McCall received a wound in the thigh which eventually killed him in January, 1895. Ran Dickerson, the younger brother of Marshal J. J. Dickerson of the Paris district, was one of the deputies involved.
