Does anyone have a book that mentions Robert A. Sexton as a USDM at Tahlequah 1885-86. Robert King lists him in the book Marshalls Force. I have been unable to find this book. The FSNHS does not have this information, but does list a Robert Sexton as a Special Deputy Marshall 1897. I am not sure that they are the same person.

Never run across that name but this is what I have on a Thompson Sexton:
Thompson J. Sexton was born in April 1871 in Indian Territory and was a half-blood Choctaw Indian. He married Fannie Docking in Sebastian County, Arkansas on May 22, 1893. In 1900, he was living with his wife and two children in Bokoshe, Choctaw Nation where he was the Sheriff of the county. He was a deputy U.S. marshal for the Central District of Indian Territory in 1904-1907. In 1920, he was living with his wife and children in Bryan County, Oklahoma where he was a real estate agent. In 1930, he was living with his wife and children in Durant, Bryan County where he was a public works carpenter. **REFERENCES** -1900 Federal Census, Bokoshe, T9N, R24E, Choctaw Nation, I.T., ED#180, Sheet#18A, Stamped#61 -1920 Federal Census, Bryan County, OK, ED#19, Sheet#3A, Stamped#90 -1930 Federal Census, Durant, Ward 3, Bryan Co., OK, ED#7-24, Sheet#18B -Arkansas Marriages, 1779-1992, Ancestry.com -“Daily Oklahomanâ€, August 16, 1907 -Marshals and Deputy Marshals 1891 to 1910, Diron Ahlquist Collection On the Trail Diron Ahlquist Secretary, Oklahombres Inc. |
