My mother's uncle was murdered near Bennington, Oklahoma. The old newspaper clipping reads:
"Claud Taylor Killed from Ambrush
Mr. Claud Taylor aged 35 years who lived about 12 miles southeast of here was shot and instantly killed last Sunday night.
Taylor was shot from the dark as he stepped to an open door in his home. Only Taylor's wife and two small children were in the home and they were unable to follow the assailant.
Bloodhounds were rushed from McAlester but the trail was too cold and much traveling over the territory made their work uncetain.
A John Clark and Ed Havslip are being held by officers."
This was likely about 1929.
Does anyone have further information or who John Clark or Ed Havslip were.
