While researching people in and around the story of The Hay Meadow Massacre I came across Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Beeler. Mrs. Beeler was one of the speakers at the raiload bond election meeting at Voorhees where Sam Robinson clubbed Deputy Sheriff James Gerrond over the head with his pistol.
Anyway Charles was born to them in 1888, the same year as the massacre. When he was older he became the author of many western fiction short stories. He also wrote several books. He wrote under the pen name of Caddo Cameron. Wouldn't you think living s close to the real thinghe would have written at least one non-fiction story. I wonder if any of his fiction has elements of this real event. Anyone ever read his work? Here is a bibliography of his work.
